Common errors and how to resolve them

Note: The examples below use ETH as the base currency and USDC as the swap asset. The same issues apply if you’re swapping other pairs.

  • Insufficient balance
Insufficient balance, your inputted amount exceeds the actual balance of your base currency (ETH)

The MoonPay app will show an error message when this happens.

  • Exceeding the maximum base currency amount
The amount you entered is higher than the maximum amount allowed for the base currency.

The MoonPay app will show an error message when this happens.

  • Inadequate funds for network fees
You don’t have enough balance to cover the required blockchain fees. This is common when swapping ERC-20 tokens. Lower the swap amount or make sure you have enough ETH to cover the network fee.

The MoonPay app will show an error message when this happens.

  • Below the minimum swap amount
The amount you entered is lower than the minimum allowed for the base currency.

The MoonPay app will show an error message when this happens.

  • Exceeding your account’s swap limits
The amount you entered is higher than your account’s permitted swap limits.

The MoonPay app will show an error message when this happens.
