Open Banking for MoonPay Balance top-ups is available in the UK and the following EEA countries: Austria, Belgium, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, and Spain.

Using Open Banking
Availability
Open Banking can only be used for MoonPay balance top-ups in the UK and supported EEA countries listed above.
Manual bank transfer option
You can still choose a manual bank transfer even after Open Banking is introduced. Both options will be clearly distinguished in the app.
SEPA transfers with Open Banking
Transfer times
Instant SEPA – Usually a few minutes
Non-instant SEPA – Up to 24 hours
Possible delays
Transfers may take longer if:
Your bank doesn’t support instant payments
Extra security checks are required
Your bank processes payments at set times
Why is double authentication required?
The two-step process happens only once per account connection:
Select your bank in the Tink interface, log in to your bank’s secure page, and authorize the connection
Complete a second verification step (e.g., one-time code, bank app approval, or website confirmation)
Note: If you’ve used Open Banking with MoonPay before but it’s your first time via Tink, you’ll need to re-link your bank account as a one-time step.
How to link your bank account
In your MoonPay app, tap Top up next to your MoonPay balance
Tap + Add a payment method
Under Choose a payment method, select Easy bank transfer
Tap Select a bank and choose your bank from the list
Tap Continue to connect your bank account
You’ll see a message stating your bank account will be connected using Tink. Tap Continue
Authorize access and tap Allow
You’ll receive a confirmation that your account is linked
How to top up your MoonPay balance
Enter the amount to add to your MoonPay balance
You’ll be redirected to your banking app to approve the payment. Tap Connect
Tap Continue when prompted
In your banking app, confirm the payment
Tap Allow when prompted
Once authorized, you’ll see a confirmation screen
Your order status will display. When the top-up is complete, the status changes to Done
