Overview
You can track your MoonPay wallet activity directly in the MoonPay app or through a blockchain explorer. This guide walks you through both methods so you can review transactions, confirm balances, and troubleshoot any inconsistencies.
View your transaction history in the MoonPay app
The MoonPay app offers an easy way to check your recent wallet activity.
How to view your history
Open the MoonPay app
Tap the Activity icon located at the bottom-right corner of the main screen
Select the specific blockchain network (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum, TRON) you wish to review
Your wallet's full transaction activity, including send and receive history, will appear in the selected network
This method is ideal if you prefer to review and track your wallet directly in the app.
Verify transactions using a blockchain explorer
You can also confirm transactions independently using a blockchain explorer.
How to check your wallet on a blockchain explorer
Log in to the MoonPay app
Go to the Wallets section and locate your MoonPay wallet card
Tap the three-dot menu (⋯) and select Copy address
Open an explorer for the correct network, such as:
Blockchain.com for Bitcoin
Etherscan for Ethereum
Solscan for Solana
Tronscan for Tron
Paste your wallet address into the explorer’s search bar to view all incoming and outgoing transactions and their confirmation status
If you've converted crypto, such as converting Bitcoin (BTC) to USDT, use cross-chain platforms (e.g., Wormhole Scan) to track such movements.
Why use a blockchain explorer?
A blockchain explorer is especially helpful when:
A transaction is not yet reflected in your wallet balance
You want to independently check the status of incoming or outgoing transfers
You need to confirm that funds were received at your address
Explorers provide full transparency and allow you to verify activity without relying solely on the MoonPay app.
Troubleshooting common issues
Expired Quotes
Sometimes, a deposit might show as "timed out" in MoonPay even though your bank confirms the payment. This occurs when the original quote for your transaction expires before payment completes. Here’s what to do:
Accept a new quote:
Open your transaction details in the MoonPay dashboard
Approve the updated quote to proceed with the transaction
Cancel the pending order:
If you don’t wish to proceed, cancel via the transaction details page. Pending authorizations on your bank statement will clear within your bank’s processing period (up to 10 business days). If no action is taken, the transaction will automatically cancel after a fixed period (like 10 hours)
Failed sell orders
When selling crypto on MoonPay, each transaction creates a unique deposit address. If crypto is sent to a deposit address from a previous or canceled order, MoonPay may be unable to complete the sale because it cannot match the incoming funds with the current order.
Solution:
Always verify the deposit address generated for your sell order before transferring funds
Delayed or Failed Deposits
Deposits may be delayed if the quoted transaction times out or if there's an issue between MoonPay and external networks. Always check your payment details and re-initiate the process if necessary. Contact MoonPay support for issues beyond standard timeframes.
Double-check destination addresses
Ensure accuracy before sending funds, as blockchain transactions are irreversible.
Have gas fees available
Networks like Ethereum require ETH to cover gas fees for certain transactions.
Back up recovery phrases
If you need to access tokens on unsupported networks, export your recovery phrase to a third-party wallet.
If your wallet balance or history looks incorrect
Purchases sent to external wallets: Crypto purchased through MoonPay may be delivered to a wallet address specified during checkout. Verify the recipient wallet address and use a blockchain explorer to confirm the transfer
Transfers out of MoonPay wallets: Funds transferred from a MoonPay wallet to an external wallet will no longer appear in the MoonPay balance. Ensure you track these transactions using external tools
Check the blockchain explorer: Confirm the transaction reached your wallet
Verify confirmations: Make sure the transaction has completed the required on-chain confirmations
App not updating? If the app doesn’t refresh after confirmation, contact MoonPay support with your wallet address and transaction ID
External transactions
Funds sent from external sources or unsupported tokens may not appear in MoonPay’s interface. Use a blockchain explorer to review them.
Wallet-to-wallet transfers
Transfers between your own wallets don’t appear in Trade Activity and don’t trigger MoonPay email confirmations. Track these externally.
Manual transfers initiated through pasted recipient addresses will also not appear in your MoonPay dashboard. Use blockchain explorers to verify these transactions instead.
Correct blockchain selection
Always choose the correct network in the app to ensure your transactions appear.
