Overview
Sometimes swaps don’t go through as smoothly as planned. Don’t worry — most issues are quick to fix. Here’s how to handle the most common errors you might see.
Common errors and fixes
Why am I seeing “insufficient gas” or “not enough native token”?
Keep a small balance of the chain’s gas token (e.g., ETH on Ethereum) to cover fees. Lower the swap size or top up gas before retrying.
Why does it say “approval required”?
Some tokens need a one-time token approval before you can swap. Approve the token once (or per spender). If you accidentally approved the wrong contract, you can revoke it later via external tools like Etherscan or Revoke.cash.
Why is the error “slippage / price impact too high” showing?
This usually happens with illiquid pairs, when there is not enough liquidity to fill your order at the desired price; or the price is changing too quickly while your transaction is pending. Try swapping a smaller amount or adjusting your slippage tolerance to allow more price movement if you’re comfortable with more price impact. Alternatively, wait until the market stabilizes or liquidity improves.
Why don’t I see my tokens in my wallet after swapping?
Your tokens are there, but your wallet may not display them by default. Contact your wallet provider if you need further assistance. You can verify details on a blockchain explorer.
Why did the bridge work but the swap didn’t finish?
If you received the wrapped token on the destination chain from the bridge, it means the bridging step succeeded. However, the final step of converting the wrapped token into your desired token didn’t execute. You can swap the wrapped tokens manually by following the same Swap process or the app’s guidance. If a refund was expected but hasn’t arrived, contact support.
Note: Your funds aren’t lost. You’ve received the bridged asset, and you can either use it directly, swap it manually, or wait for a refund, depending on the route.
FAQs
Can funds get stuck or lost?
Can funds get stuck or lost?
Permanent loss is very rare. Refund logic usually ensures your funds come back if a swap fails.
If it fails on the source chain, try again.
If it fails on the destination chain, check for wrapped tokens. Contact support if your refund hasn’t arrived in the expected window.
Important: Refunds can take time depending on the chain and route. Always check explorers for the latest status before reaching out to support.
What happens if the bridge step works but the swap fails?
What happens if the bridge step works but the swap fails?
You’ll keep the bridged token. The follow-up swap won’t execute, but your funds aren’t lost.
