Does this apply to me?
Travel Rule requirements vary by jurisdiction. If your transaction is in scope in your location, you may be asked to confirm that you own and control your selected wallet.

What is the Travel Rule?

The Travel Rule is a regulatory requirement that we share certain customer information with other crypto asset service providers. We are also required to have you confirm that you own and control your selected wallet.

For transactions over the applicable threshold in your region, we’ll

ask you to verify ownership of your wallet.

Note: Confirming wallet ownership helps us meet regulatory requirements, but in some cases, a transaction may still be declined for compliance reasons.

Will my data be safe under the Travel Rule?

Yes, we are committed to protecting user data and complying with relevant privacy laws. The information shared is typically encrypted and transmitted through secure channels.

Wallet ownership and control checks

Confirming you control your wallet

For transactions over the applicable threshold in your region, MoonPay is required to ask you to confirm that you own and control your wallet. This is for legal, risk, and security purposes.

Important: To complete your transaction, you’ll need to confirm this.
