How to verify your MoonPay Commerce account

Learn what's required to complete individual and business verification through MoonPay Commerce.

Overview


We recommend verifying your MoonPay Commerce account to unlock full access to our features. During this process, you'll be asked to provide information about your business and its beneficial owners. Once verified, you can start accepting deposits and payments through the MoonPay Commerce platform.

How to begin verification


  1. Navigate to SettingsMerchant Dashboard and select the verification type that applies to you — either Creator Verification or Business Verification

  2. Complete the required business and identity information

  3. Our team will review your submission and confirm next steps

Business verification requirements


We'll need the following to verify your business:

  • Legal business name and registered address

  • Business registration number

  • Country of incorporation

  • Details of all beneficial owners (individuals holding 25% or more)

Accepted business registration documents

  • Certificate of incorporation

  • Articles of association

  • Business registration certificate

Identity verification (beneficial owners and directors)


All beneficial owners and relevant directors will need to complete individual identity verification.

Accepted government-issued ID documents

  • International passport

  • National ID card (both sides)

  • Driving licence (both sides) — temporary licences are not accepted

Photo and document requirements

  • High-resolution, colour images

  • Original photos only — no screenshots or edited images

  • All four corners of the document visible

  • Document must be valid and undamaged

  • Documents must be in Latin characters, or include a certified English translation

Note: A liveness check or selfie may also be required.

Proof of address requirements


We may request a proof of address for your registered business address or for individual beneficial owners. The document must be less than three months old and include the full name and address of the entity or individual.

Accepted documents

  • Utility bill (electricity, gas, internet, water)

  • Bank statement

  • Tax invoice

  • Mortgage or lease agreement

  • Government-issued address certificate

Note: Documents must be submitted as an original PDF or unaltered photograph. Screenshots are not accepted.

How long does verification take?


  • Straightforward submissions are often processed within a few business days

  • More complex cases involving multiple beneficial owners or additional documentation may take longer

  • You'll receive email updates throughout the process, including if further information is needed

Can I submit documents via email or chat?

No — for security, all documents must be submitted through the secure MoonPay Commerce portal.

What happens if my submission is rejected?

You'll receive details on the reason for rejection. Common issues include mismatched addresses, expired documents, or missing beneficial owner information. Re-submission is possible once the issue is resolved.

Can I use MoonPay Commerce while verification is pending?

Yes you can! For questions about your verification status, or if your submission has been pending for more than 2 business days, you can contact us via our support channels.
