Overview
To buy or sell crypto with MoonPay, you need a wallet address. You can either set one up directly in your MoonPay account or use an external wallet provider. This article explains both options and walks you through the steps to get started.
Your wallet options
MoonPay gives you two ways to get a wallet address:
Set up a wallet in your MoonPay account — create a wallet for BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP or TRON directly in the app
Use an external wallet provider — connect a wallet from a third-party provider
Important: MoonPay isn't designed as a wallet app, meaning we don't manage your funds. We can’t access your wallet, so please keep your secret phrase safe. This secret phrase is important for recovering your private key and gaining access to your wallet.

How to get a MoonPay wallet address
Mobile app
Log in to the mobile app and access the main menu
Tap on Buy Crypto
Select the cryptocurrency and the amount you want to purchase
Check the fees and continue
You'll be prompted to create a BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP or TRON wallet during the buy flow
