How to use Sites, MoonPay’s in-app dApp browser

Open third party decentralized apps from the MoonPay app and use your wallet there, with every request needing your approval.

Who can use this feature? Sites is rolling out in stages, so it isn’t available to all customers yet. If you don’t see the globe icon on your home screen, it isn’t switched on for you yet.

Important: MoonPay doesn’t run, operate or endorse the sites in Sites. Apps on the list aren’t endorsed by MoonPay, and we make no representations about their safety, legitimacy or suitability. We aren’t responsible for third-party content or any financial risks from using them. When you use a site, you interact directly with that site, not with MoonPay. Transactions you confirm go onchain and can’t be reversed or refunded.

Overview

Sites lets you open third party decentralized apps (dApps), like swap tools, lending platforms, bridges, and use your self-hosted MoonPay wallet there. No copying addresses. No separate wallet app.

When a site asks for something, MoonPay shows a confirmation sheet first. Nothing happens until you approve it.

Sites can ask your wallet to do four things:

  • Connect: Share your wallet address with the site

  • Sign a message: Prove it’s you, for example to sign in. No funds move

  • Confirm a transaction: Send funds or give the site permission to spend your tokens. Funds can move

  • Switch network: Move between supported networks. MoonPay doesn’t show a prompt for this

Key benefits

  • You approve everything: Every connection, signature and transaction needs your confirmation

  • Clear warnings: Risky requests, like unlimited token approvals, are flagged before you confirm

How to use Sites

Open Sites

  1. Open the MoonPay app and go to your home screen

  2. Tap the globe icon at the top right. It’s the first of the three icons

Find a site

The Sites home screen shows a featured site, your favorites and your recent sites. Below that, use the category tabs to browse: All, Trade, Earn, Swap, Bridge, Social and Manage.

  • Favorites: Tap the star in the site’s toolbar to save it

  • Recents: The last four sites you opened appear here. Tap Clear to remove them all, or press and hold one to remove it

  • Search: Tap Search sites and type a name or address. Results come from the Sites list. If the site you want isn’t there, tap Search externally

Note: The Sites list is compiled by reference to an independent third party and can change at any time, without an app update. If a site disappears, it has been removed from the list. Favorites and recents are saved on your device only and don’t sync to other devices.

Open a site

Tap a site to open it. Before the site loads, MoonPay shows a warning that the site is run by a third party. Read it, then continue if you trust the site.

Connect your wallet to a site

  1. Open a site and tap its own Connect wallet button

  2. Choose MoonPay from the wallet list. Some sites connect without asking you to choose

  3. In the Connect to sheet, check the site name, then tap Connect

  4. Wait for Connected to appear

Once connected, the site can see your wallet address and balances. Your connection stays saved on your device, even after you close the browser or the app.

Important: Sites are run by third parties. If you run into a bug or any other problem on a site, that’s outside MoonPay’s control and we can’t resolve it for you. Contact the site’s own support instead.

Approve a request

When a connected site wants you to sign something or send a transaction, a sheet opens in the MoonPay app showing the site name and which wallet is in use.

  1. Read the details on the sheet

  2. Tap View full request if you want to see the full message or raw data

  3. Tap the confirm button to approve, or Cancel to decline

Only one request shows at a time. If the site sends a new one, the earlier request is cancelled.

Disconnect from a site

Use the site’s own disconnect option. Signing out of MoonPay also disconnects every site. A connection ends too if you switch to a different wallet, and the site needs to connect again for the new one.

Which wallets work with Sites

Sites uses the wallet you have selected at the time.

Important: Only enter your recovery phrase in MoonPay’s own import screen. Never share it with a site, a chat or anyone claiming to be from MoonPay.

Supported networks

  • EVM networks: Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, BNB Chain and Robinhood Chain. Sites connect on Ethereum by default

  • Solana: Mainnet only. Sites that support Solana wallets list MoonPay in their wallet picker

If a site asks for a network that isn’t supported, such as a testnet, the request fails and the site shows its own error.

Understand transaction requests

When you confirm a transaction on an EVM network, MoonPay reads it and shows what it does. The button text tells you the type.

Request

Button you’ll see

What it means

Send a coin

Send 0.5 ETH

Sends coins to the address shown. This is the only type without a risk warning

Token approval

Approve 100 USDC

Lets the site move up to that amount later, without asking again. Warning shown

Unlimited approval

Approve unlimited USDC

Lets the site move all of that token at any time. High risk

Whole collection approval

Approve every item

Lets the site move any NFT in the collection. High risk

Remove permission

Remove permission

Cancels an earlier approval. The spending limit shows “None”

Contract interaction

Confirm

MoonPay can’t read what the call does, so it warns you

Two warnings can also appear on message signing requests:

  • Domain mismatch: The request says it’s from one site, but you’re on another. This can mean phishing

  • Hidden fields: Part of the request can’t be shown, but it will still be signed

Important: The confirmation sheet doesn’t show a network fee. You pay the fee in the network’s coin (ETH, BNB or POL) from the same wallet. If that wallet doesn’t have enough, the transaction fails.

Stay safe in Sites

  • Know the site: Only connect your wallet to sites you recognize and trust

  • Be wary of unlimited approvals: Choose a specific amount where the site lets you

  • Take the warnings seriously: If a sheet says it can’t show what a transaction does, only continue if you trust the site completely

  • Check the address: Look at the site address and the lock in the toolbar before connecting

Review and remove token approvals

A token approval is a permission you give a site to spend a specific token from your wallet. For example, before a swap, a site may ask you to approve it to move some of your USDC. The approval is a separate transaction you confirm, and it doesn’t send any funds by itself. It can be for a set amount or for an unlimited amount, and it stays active after the swap is done, until you cancel it. That means the site can move up to that amount of that token later, without asking you again.

You can review and remove them with an approvals tool, such as Revoke or your network’s block explorer (for example, Etherscan for Ethereum).

  1. Open Sites and choose the approvals tool for your network

  2. Connect your MoonPay wallet

  3. Find the approval you want to cancel

  4. Remove it, then confirm the Remove permission request in the MoonPay app

Searching outside the list

If a site isn’t on the Sites list, tap Search externally to search for it or type its address. MoonPay shows the same warning before any site loads, including sites you find this way.

Important: Anyone can build a site, and scam sites are common. Take extra care before you connect or approve anything, especially on sites that aren’t on the Sites list.

FAQs

What is a dApp?

A dApp is a decentralized app that runs on a blockchain, like Uniswap, Aave or Polymarket. To act on your behalf, it needs your permission to connect, and each action, like a swap or an approval, asks you to sign.

Is Sites safe to use?

Every connection or signing request shows a confirmation screen first, so nothing moves without your approval. But MoonPay doesn’t operate or endorse these sites, and onchain transactions can’t be reversed. Only approve actions you recognize, and take extra care with any site outside our list.

Can MoonPay reverse a transaction I confirmed by mistake?

No. Transactions you confirm in Sites are recorded on the blockchain and can’t be reversed, cancelled or refunded. That’s true for every wallet, not just MoonPay. MoonPay isn’t a party to trades made on these sites.

Tokens left my wallet that I didn’t send. What happened?

You may have approved a spending limit earlier, especially an “unlimited” or “every item” approval. A site with an approval can move those tokens later without a new prompt. To stop it, ask the site to send a Remove permission request, which Sites shows clearly. If you think it was a scam, report it to the app or project involved and to your local authorities, then contact our support team. You can also review and cancel approvals with Revoke or your network’s block explorer from the Sites list.

Why can’t I use an app that appears in the list?

Some apps are restricted in certain regions. Sites doesn’t currently filter the list by location, so an app can appear even if you can’t use it where you are. Check the app’s own availability for your country. You are responsible for ensuring that you are legally able to access apps from your location.

Can I use a wallet I already own?

Yes. Import it with its recovery phrase and it works in Sites like your MoonPay wallet. Saved wallets that only hold an address can’t be used.

How do I disconnect from a site?

Use the site’s own disconnect option, or sign out of MoonPay to disconnect from every site at once.

A site I used before is gone from the list. Why?

MoonPay can remove sites from the curated list at any time. You can still reach the site with Search externally, but it won’t have been reviewed by MoonPay, so take extra care.

Where is the browser? My friend has it.

We’re releasing Sites in stages, so it isn’t available to everyone yet. We’re always testing new products.

Does MoonPay charge a fee for using Sites?

No. MoonPay doesn’t charge a fee for using Sites. You only pay network fees when you send or confirm a transaction. They’re paid in the network’s coin and set by the network, not MoonPay.

Important: MoonPay provides access to Sites but doesn’t operate, control or endorse the apps listed. They may involve unregulated services. MoonPay is not responsible for their content, services, or transactions, including any losses arising from your interactions with them. Transactions conducted through third-party applications may be irreversible, and you may be unable to recover lost funds. Always do your own research.
